About Jennifer
"follow the story, - tell the truth, - create something that matters"
STUMBLED INTO THIS WORK BY ACCIDENT. . . KINDA
At 42 years old, decades of burnout and performing my way through life had caught up to me in ways I could no longer ignore. So I saw a doctor.
In just under two years, I was diagnosed with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Ehlers Danlos (a connective tissue disorder that results in hypermobile joints, chronic pain, and a whole host of other challenges). Oh, and perimenopause — because that’s a real thing too.
I suddenly realized that everything I thought I understood about myself was wrong. Everything.
That’s when I started digging. I made it my mission to get to know the REAL me. To rewrite the narrative I’d been shamefully holding onto around who I am and how I move through the world. And more importantly, to document and share my journey in hopes that it might one day help even one other person with theirs.
WHAT I’M DOING NOW
That’s how I ended up here today — building a body of work centered on documentary, narrative nonfiction, and storytelling rooted in lived experience — all while completing a two-year degree in Integrated Media / Video Production at Mt. Hood Community College, and serving as Editor-in-Chief for The Advocate, student newspaper.
ABOUT THE WORK
My work, while ever-evolving, lives at the intersection of personal truth and the stories we’ve been taught to believe—— examining identity, burnout, perception, and what happens when those narratives begin to break down.
MY MISSION
Follow the story.
Tell the truth.
Create something that matters.
